About

Marijke Vandewal is a military professor of the Communications Information Signals and Sensors department (CISS) of the Royal Military Academy Brussels (RMA). After serving the Belgian Air Force for a couple of years, she returned to the RMA mid 2000 for an academic career. She started as project manager of research projects in 2009, and has guided since then numerous nationally funded projects, as well as ESA and EU funded projects. Her main research domains are now optronics sensors and lasers, and she leads the research unit Laser & Optronics.
